Lipsticks MUST HAVES for Indian Beauties


Our Lipstick says more than our lips do.

   A well-groomed woman is incomplete without a hint of color on her lips. Now when it comes to our Indian skin tone we get a little hesitant wearing nudes pinks and corals. This is mainly because there are so many different shades of each one of these that some of them actually washes up out, makes us look dull and pigmented and some just doesn't go well with our undertones. 
I remember being a teenager when I always felt that lipsticks are to be worn only by married or working women and us teenagers always wore those watery glosses available in different colours :)

 Well now the time has really changed and fashion and makeup industry have boomed to such an extent that lip surgeries, lip plumpers are seen as extremely trivial. 
Adding a color to your lips does not just boosts the entire outlook but also makes one feel more confident and pretty. So why not? 

 Let's have a look at some extremely flattering lipsticks on our skin color.

 1.  MAC chilli - OMG this colour is to die for. All-time favourite this color is a reddish brown and orange all mixed together. Suitable for deeper and fairer skin tones. This has a matte finish but feels extremely comfortable on the lips. High colour Pay off. It retails for 1500. 

2. Mac Whirl - Dirty Rose color looks amazing on Indian skin. Again a Matte formula also is long wearing.  If your afraid to wear nudes this one is a good option as this will not wash you out.  Retails for 1500.


3- Lime Crime Pumpkin-  This is another great bold orange matte color. Looks amazing on the lips.  It's a liquid lipstick with a velvety formula. Very long wearing and non-patchy. Difficult to get in India can try Amazon or eBay. Retails for 1250.



4- Nykaa So matte Orange Vice-  With a magnetic closure these extremely affordable lipsticks are great for everyday wear.  Although claims to be a matte formula but is a bit on the creamy side. Also very pigmented. Retails for  399.



5- Faces Canada Wrapped up 09 -Not so talked about but honestly, this one is a must. Cant stress enough how natural and pretty this looks on wheatish and fair tones. Deep skin tones might do a swatch test before buying this. Easily available in the market and also online. It slides like a dream and has a creamy matte finish. Retails for 750. Also get a free sharpener worth rs.125. 




Pinks For Indian Skintone


 When talking about Pinks it gets a bit tricky as at times we get confused which pink would actually suit our tone. Should we go for more mauvey tones or towards dark pinks? So I've finally lined up the best suited Pink Lipsticks which you can wear comfortably.

1-  Inglot shade 421 - Bright berry pink shade, looks extremely attractive. Has a matte formula which I am a big fan of. It is long wearing with good colour pay off. In a single glide can give the true colour.  Tip: Apply a thick lip balm 5 minutes before applying matte lipsticks and rub it with a cotton before applying the lipstick for a smooth finish. Retails for 1350



2- Maybelline Touch of spice 660-  This is a great daily office wear pink lipstick. Has a matte finish but very comfortable. Needs a touch up every few hours but does not dry out the lips. 
Also has a subtle fresh scent to it. Retails for 575


3- Revlon Ultra HD Devotion-  With Wax free gel Formula this is another pick that you must try. Feels like a moisturizing lip balm with Hign definition colour. The Main drawback is it does not last very long. so regular touch ups are needed. This shade, in particular, is more suitable for fairer complexion.  Retails for 1195


4- Mac Mehr- This has been raved about so much. And it's totally worth the hype. A Perfect pink for Indian skin tones. Has a matte formula and feels lightweight. No frequent touch ups needed and have a great colour pay off. Retails for  1500



5- Faces Canada lip crayon Peach me-  Although it says peach me its more on the pink side. I love the formula as it does not makes the lines prominent and gives a smooth finish. Creamy matte and also is long wear. Comes with a free sharpener. The best part is the application. With the pointed pencil, it's extremely easy to apply or reapply when required. Retails for 750.
