Foundation hacks!! steps that need correction for flawless base.
Heylo beauties
Here is another blog for the makeup lovers.
Talking about makeup the most important product that is the foundation of any flawless looking face is also known as a foundation. No brainer!
Now, you must be thinking yes we know this. But this blog is not about what you should do to create that flawless looking face because we all have read enough that tells us what to do to create that look celebrities carry. But do we really get that??
Well here is a little disclaimer before we begin, every face in this universe has some flaws. As per the records more than 18 crore Indians are suffering from some or the other skin issues. So sit back and relax as your not the only one. So, expecting miracles out of a foundation is just not fair when we know that there is a lot that needs to be done first to our skin.
A foundation is just meant to hide some flaws and you cannot ignore the fact that you cannot have a full foundation routine and look natural at the same time. Be realistic!!!
So here I have listed some hacks that can help to create a better base if not perfect as no false promises here.
1.Spot test- Do not buy foundations that are lighter or darker than your skin colour. The best way to hide the blemishes and any flaws that your skin might have is to get the exact match. The best way to choose foundation, in my opinion, is to test a pea size amount on any blemish on ur face. If it covers it and seems unnoticeable than that's it, your perfect match is right there. Either you can grab the sample to further test the wear out or just buy it if the sample is unavailable.
2: Do not try to build the coverage- This might sound a bit off for those who have a habit of layering their foundations for extra coverage. But try missing out on this one. Layering the foundation will only create patchiness and cakey looking face and also will clog your pores easily. The skin needs some air to breathe as well so creating a thick layer of foundation on your face can make your skin age faster and look unappealing at the same time.
If you are looking for more coverage I suggest you buy a full coverage foundation and apply a single layer of it. You might as well use a primer to hold the full coverage for long hours. And this will look more natural as compared to double layering a light/med coverage foundations as it already has a rich colour pigment so a little will go a long way and will create better skin texture.
3: Spot conceal: This is another great trick. If you wish to keep the look minimal and natural with a light foundation then spot concealing is a great option. This technique is my personal favourite. All you need to do it take a pea size of foundation on the back of your hand of the colour exactly matching your skin and apply on top of the marks and blemishes. After doing that apply the foundation like you would normally and voila you will have my skin but better-looking face.
4: Do not powder the full face: Adding another layer of a product will only make the look more unnatural. So if you have a oily face just powder the t zone and that will do the trick. A better option is to apply thick layer and leave it for a minute and then just brush it off. This will keep the t zone oil free for long.
5: Do not mix different components: This is another important point. We just try to follow any advice without doing full research on it. As these days the trend is to mix the foundation with some oil to add glow and luminosity. But before you perform this make sure that your foundation is not water based. Its a general idea if you mix water and oil they will never blend together and so how can u expect your foundation to mix well.
Instead, you can either mix little moisturiser you use or you can apply oil on your face and leave it for a few minutes and then finally applying the foundation. This will give u a subtle glow and a blended look.
